Gaupen came into being in the village of Gaupen in Norway in 1973. In the kitchen of the family farm Reidar Frydenlund was building his first trailer for use in the day-to-day running of the business. Reidar’s father didn’t think much of the idea, preferring to sell it to two workmen who had come to lay a carpet in his home. The quality of the trailer quickly won over other professionals, and this was the start of a great industrial adventure.
